My gorgeous friend Melody, who runs the Coolest Bar Ever . . . Lucky 13 Saloon in Brooklyn, NY :D

Her tattoo artist is Anil Gupta of New York, and does amazing work . . . his site is definitely worth checking out (as is the site of my tattoo artist, Paul Roe, of Washington, DC.

Corel Painter 8.

Thank you!! :>

BTW, I love your vector of Siouxsie . . . very well-done, *especially* for a first piece!!

What program did you use? I'm trying to teach myself to use Expression 3, but the manual is really awful.

Awww, thank you!!

I really enjoyed your gallery as well -- my favorites were "Gawth" and the little "rawr/mini-monsters" guys. I sent the mini-monsters link to my 12-year-old daughter (who's a warped individual like I am), and she thought they were cute as hell, "especially the slimey ones!" You've got a very nice hand with the vectors, especially, and you've got a lot of variety in there, which is nice.

And congratulations on your DD!!

nice work on her (and especially her tattoo). the way the background is only a little darker than her lowlit hair makes the brighter greens pop very nicely.

This one goes perfectly with the piece you recently made of Geekers.

BTW, I have been meaning to ask you. I know you use Corel Painter 8, but what do you use to draw it into that program? A mouse? Wacom tablet? Trackball? I am just curious. :)

Thanks, sugar!! *squeezes*

I have a Toshiba Portege tablet PC (my baby *pets it*) that I got this summer . . . it's totally revolutionized the way I draw, as you can probably tell ;) It's wonderful -- I can draw directly on the screen, which gives a much more natural 'hand' . . . I never was very good at drawing with a mouse, so my old procedure was to sketch/scan/color, which was a lot more awkward and took *ages*, particularly if I had to make any significant changes to the image in the process (print/sketch/scan again), which often degraded the image quality a lot. I *heart* this computer, and recommend it highly for art :>

I have used a graphics tablet before, but I've never had very good hand/eye coordination in terms of drawing on the tablet but trying to make my hand follow what's on the screen . . . drawing directly on the screen, like I do with this computer, is exactly what I need :D

Ah ha! That makes a lot of sense then! That's very cool!

I betcha that if I had a tablet like that, I'd probably be able to as well. In most other situations, if I can't use my hands (over a mouse or trackball) to create art, then I struggle.

I can't wait until I get a Wacom now. :D
